After last weeks rainout at I-35 Speedway, it was nice to see sunny skies and warm temperatures Saturday for our return to the track. The pill draw gave Tom the pole for his heat race, but that was short lived as outside row two starter, Paden Moreland got a great start and took the lead in turn one. Tom stayed close to the leader and finished in the second spot.
The redraw for the Feature lineup put Tom outside row two with Rick Hench on the pole. At the start, Rick took the lead with Tom quickly working into the second position. Tom was able to pull up inside and outside of the leader a few times as an intense battle for the lead continued for the remainder of the event. In the end, Rick was just too strong and Tom had to settle for second place just a car length behind. In car video of the race is available at https://youtu.be/Z3lhdNZz004.
We are off next week, but return to the Valley Speedway on May 21st for the first of two events at the always fast Grain Valley, Missouri track. The last visit to Valley Speedway in July of last year ended with the TBR Motorsports, Speedway Motors, Renegade chassis in Victory Lane. Come out and see if Tom can back that up with another win.
